I wanted to use colour, which for me was risky. I like simple and classy, so this was out of my comfort zone.
I actually designed it in Bali, heading out with Ira and Oscar to hand-pick the leather. I grabbed samples of every colour I loved and worked on the design from my $50-a-night hotel room—and sometimes even inside Ira’s store.
The first sample? Hated it. So we reworked the design. The second sample? Still hated it. Changed it again. By the time the third sample rolled around, I finally felt like we’d nailed it.
After experimenting with colour combos, we landed on what you see on my website today—and honestly, I’m pretty stoked with how it turned out.
